National Car Rental App Reviews

I signed up for emerald club and entered in all of my information based of what a work colleague told me about the company. I entered all of my trip information and hit next 20X with no result. I know Hertz Gold works just fine. Im sure the company is great, but the app developers are failures. National should spend more money on their tech employees.

App upgrade dropped all reservations from account. Have to look up each individually which of course requires opening email to find confirmation number. Once found, the reservations still do not appear on reservations page. So basically the most useful part of the app no longer works.

There must be a problem with their server side, I have not been able to sign in for an entire week. Please fix.

Finally... Being a heavy national renter, I have been waiting for this app forever. Works great, saves time and frustration logging in on the national website from my phone. Love it!

I have been able to see reservations but yet been able to make one via this app. Continually get the message "system error".

Great app until new version will not install and now I am stuck between versions and cant use the app.

Works better than the desktop application!

Used to be very useful and clear but of lately has some issues. It started by not keeping me logged/signed in, so I had to enter the logging information every time that I opened it. Now it is not showing the my upcoming or current rentals, so it is essentially useless If I do a search using the app with the confirmation number the reservation will appear but they will not appear on my upcoming page on the app and there is no way to save the search. Tried contacting tech service with this report but no response or care. Shame, as it used to be a very good app.

The app wont show upcoming reservations making it essentially useless. Phoning National led to no help at all. Too bad, Im moving on.

This is a good app. Easy to use, easy to reserve. This app has an internal feedback button, the survey simply asks you about how much you like the vehicle and will you think about buying said vehicle. I wish it would ask you about how clean the vehicle is, does it smell bad or how was your customer service with additional feedback. The app is certainly worth downloading for frequent travellers.

You would think this would be a simple app to do. Sadly other apps show how bad a car rental app can be. Simple feature I like the most: the app remembers your usual rental locations. Its amazing how much simpler this makes it. I wish pickup and dropping ft time was easier to do.

This app, regardless of the version I have been running, allows me to book a car. Great ... that is the absolute least that I would expect from it. I have never had success finding current bookings. If I call in, the booking agent is able to find my reservation easily enough, but the app fails even when I enter my confirmation number. It also seems to constantly think I am driving a rental car even when not. I get the feeling the app does not read from their database terribly well. It would be nice to see a couple of these bugs fixed in some future version of the app.

This app used to work, but now cannot login to app. I can login via web but not this app.

I am having similar issue where it traps you in a password reset cycle. I did notice latest Apple iOS update mentions addressing similar problems; so maybe the problem is with Apple. Ive just done the software update for ios, but it is same problem. App asks you to reset password, but then when you fill in web page, it wont go beyond the "Continue." Even when I had wife reset password from her desktop, it doesnt let the phone app login using it without prompting for update of password and throwing you back in the loop again. Need some tech support here.

Absolutely the worst app Ive ever used. Every time I try to log in it says my password has expired and needs to be reset, no matter how often I reset it. Not functional for a business traveler. Useless app.

As a previous reviewer stated. Future reservations are missing. Even attempting to manually search by confirmation number brings up an error stating that there are no future reservations. Pretty useless app since it doesn’t even show your reservations.

When this app was working it was fantastic but it has been down for at least three months now and there is absolutely no way to get in touch with customer support. When you hit the link it takes you to the customer support for the rental company and they have no idea about the app.

Really enjoy using it.

Im trying to make reservations & it comes up I should call in If I go to the browser on the site its working So the app last update is no good

As previously stated future reservations cant be found. No one knows how to fix it, support is nil..
